The Jan S. Handleman, Ph.D. Award
We at BAO have developed an annual ward to honor our colleague who passed away on April 4, 2008. The Jan S. Handleman award will be given in May of each year. The editors of each journal will nominate an article from their respective journals that they perceive as outstanding and deserving of recognition. The publishers and the awards committee will select the article for award. There will be a small monitory reward that can be applied to the ABA annual conference fees.
The 2008 winner of the Jan S. Handleman award recipient as agreed upon by the publishers of the BAO journals is: Family Mode Deactivation Therapy as a Manualized Cognitive Behavior Therapy Treatment by Jack A. Apsche, Christopher K. Bass and Marsha Ann Houston, BAT 8.3. The funding for the award will begin in 2009.
We hope that the award will keep Dr. Handleman’s spirit alive throughout the year.
