Dr. Miguel is board certified behavior analyst and an assistant professor in the Psychology Department at California State University, Sacramento . He is also an adjunct professor at the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Dr. Miguel serves as an associate editor for The Analysis of Verbal Behavior, and The Journal of Speech and Language Pathology - Applied Behavior Analysis. He is also a member of the editorial board of The International Journal of Behavioral Consultation and Therapy and serves as a guest reviewer for the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis, Journal of Organizational Behavior Management, Brazilian Journal of Behavior Analysis and Brazilian Journal of Behavior and Cognitive Therapy. Dr. Miguel’s research focuses on language acquisition, symbolic behavior/stimulus equivalence, and the development of teaching strategies to promote spontaneous and generative language in children diagnosed with autism.
